Slack Upload Guide

Post text messages to a Slack channel using the IndReelForge API. Slack connects with an incoming webhook URL — the webhook is tied to one channel.

Supported Content Types

Text only

Slack incoming webhooks cannot upload files, so photos and videos are not supported for Slack. Leave Slack out of photo and video requests.

Get an Incoming Webhook URL

1. Go to api.slack.com/apps and click Create New App → From scratch. Pick a name and your workspace.
2. In the app settings open Incoming Webhooks and switch Activate Incoming Webhooks on.
3. Click Add New Webhook to Workspace, choose the channel to post to, and click Allow.
4. Copy the Webhook URL — it looks like https://hooks.slack.com/services/….

Treat the webhook URL like a password

Anyone with the URL can post to that channel. If it leaks, revoke it in the app's Incoming Webhooks page and connect a new one.

Connect Slack

From the dashboard

1. Dashboard → Profiles → select your profile
2. Click Connect next to Slack
3. Paste the Incoming Webhook URL
4. IndReelForge checks the webhook before saving — status shows Connected

Announce Across Slack, Discord and Telegram

Use slack_title to send Slack different text than the other platforms in the same request.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Cause	Fix
Connect fails with INVALID_CREDENTIALS	The URL is wrong, or the webhook was revoked	Copy the URL again from the app's Incoming Webhooks page
Posts stop arriving	The webhook was revoked, the app was removed, or the channel was archived	Add a new webhook and reconnect Slack
